All your frequently asked questions — clearly answered for your convenience.
-
We work across lifestyle, fashion, design, art, hospitality, food and beverage, technology, wellness, professional services and purpose-driven organisations. Industry matters less than substance: the question we ask is whether there is a genuine point of view that can sustain multiple stories over time.
-
Yes. Contente was built for entrepreneurs, small business owners and subject-matter experts who have genuine expertise but have never had access to editorial-quality PR. Our model is structured so the work is accessible without compromising on editorial standards.
-
We will tell you. It is the least commercially convenient thing we do and the most important. A pitch built on a weak angle costs you money, costs us credibility with an editor, and produces nothing. If the substance is not yet in place, we will say what would need to be true before it is.
-
Every long-term engagement begins with an in-depth session about you: your background, your expertise, your objectives and your industry. From that, we build a strategic document covering your positioning, the topics you should be known for, the publications we will target and a phased roadmap. You approve it before any pitching begins. The document evolves across cycles.
-
The initial consultation is in-depth: we need to understand your background, your expertise and your objectives before we can build a strategy. You review and approve the strategy before any pitching begins. When a story is commissioned, you speak to the journalist directly. For thought leadership and opinion pieces, your input is essential throughout because we cannot write your point of view for you. The expertise has to come from you. The editorial strategy and the pitching come from us.
-
No, and neither can anyone else. A guaranteed placement in a publication is paid advertising.
For Visibility and Visibility+, our pricing is tied directly to performance, meaning you pay exclusively for what we deliver. If a pitch doesn't land a confirmed story, you don't get billed for it.
-
For Visibility and Visibility+, we spend the first couple of weeks building your media outreach strategy and then start pitching. When a pitch lands depends on editors, news cycles and editorial calendars, so it can be within a month or it can take longer. That is why a four-month cycle makes sense: it gives the work enough runway without dragging on without review. For Campaigns, we usually run a two-month engagement built around a newsworthy moment, with the first few weeks spent building assets, media kits and invitations before outreach begins.
-
Pay-per-placement means you only pay for media coverage that is confirmed. Contente charges a monthly subscription covering strategy, research and pitching, and a separate fee per placement. If a pitch does not result in coverage, no placement fee is charged.
-
Because most retainers bill for activity, clients usually end up paying for effort rather than outcomes. We do things differently: a light base fee covers foundational strategy: your positioning, core messaging, and editorial roadmap at actual cost. Everything beyond that is tied directly to confirmed results.
This keeps high-level strategy and rigorous editorial work accessible to entrepreneurs and experts who would never have justified a five-figure monthly commitment.
It also makes rigorous editorial work accessible to entrepreneurs and experts who would never have justified a five-figure monthly commitment.
-
Yes, in the order of operations. A traditional agency begins with a media list and works out what to pitch. We begin with a strategic document that defines what you should be known for, and pitching follows from it.
Getting that sequence right turns press into a compounding asset rather than coverage that just accumulates. Ultimately, PR is just one mechanism to establish industry authority, not the end goal.
-
If you want to build long-term authority through consistent media coverage, choose Visibility. If you also want AI systems and search engines to associate you with your expertise, choose Visibility+. If you have a specific launch, opening or milestone, choose a Campaign. You can also combine them: an entrepreneur on Visibility who launches something new can layer a Campaign over the ongoing work.
-
Yes. We are based in Singapore, and publication mapping extends to regional and international titles where they serve the client's positioning.
-
For Visibility and Visibility+, you pay for outcomes. We charge a monthly subscription to cover the strategy, research and pitching behind the scenes, but placement fees are only charged when coverage is confirmed.
For Campaigns, it is a single fixed fee regardless of how many placements you get. We only recommend a Campaign if you have a significant news moment worth building around.
